Dorothy Riggins Garcia, 93, of Kailua-Kona died Aug. 2. Born in Hampton, Iowa, she was a homemaker, a World War II veteran and enjoyed ocean activities and baseball with her husband of 66 years. No services. Survived by husband, Leandro (Leo) Garcia; daughter, Kim Garcia; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Arrangements by A Hui Hou Crematory & Funeral Home of West Hawaii.

Goro Kajiyama, 89, of Pahoa died July 23 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Kapoho, he was a retired crane operator for the former Puna Sugar Co. and member of Higashi Hongwanji Mission in Hilo, Pahoa Kumiai and Pahoa Nikkei Jin Kai. Visitation 4:30-5:30 p.m. Friday, August 9 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Memorial service at 5:30 p.m. Casual attire; no flowers. Survived by wife, Eiko Kajiyama of Pahoa; daughter, Sandra Arriola of Hawaiian Beaches; son, Daryl (Pearl) Kajiyama of Ainaloa; sisters-in-law, Akie Kajiyama of Pahala and Sarah Togashi of Keaau; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. Ray Kiyoshi Nakamura, 78, of Hilo, formerly of Honolulu, died July 13 at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Kukuihaele, he was a retired master carpet layer and U.S. Army and Hawaii National Guard veteran. Services held. Ashes interred at Honokaa Hongwanji Columbarium. No flowers; memorial donations to Honokaa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple. Survived by caretaker, Zita Gomes of Keaau; brothers, James Nakamura of Aiea, Oahu, and Paul Nakamura of Los Angeles; sister, Betty Miyashiro of Honomu. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.

Misue Sakae, 90, of Hilo died July 13 at a care home. Born in Papaikou, she was a member of Puna Hongwanji Mission and Kurtistown Jodo Mission. Services held. Survived by son, Kenneth (Lillian) Sakae of Kurtistown; daughter, Jean (Wilfred) Kuroyama of Hilo: brothers, Carl Obasa and Yoshio (Marcia) Obasa of Kurtistown; sisters, Sueko Saito of Honolulu, Sumie Yamanishi of Japan, Sue Kojima, Yoshie (Abel) Wakida and Masue (James) Yogi of Hilo; two grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Tatsue Inomoto Takasaki, 89, of Aiea, Oahu, formerly of Umauma, died July 20. Born in Kaikea, North Hilo, he was an orchid farm owner, former post office worker and member of Honohina Hongwanji Mission. Services held. No koden (monetary gifts).
